 A lot of people spend a lot of money on wedding planners to deal with the topic that we are going to talk about today, and that is wedding programs. Most people feel like they can not make up their own programs; however, that is not true. This next part is optional but a fun thing to include in the wedding ceremony if you have time. You can put in brief bios and/or descriptions of the people who are attending the wedding and their relationship to the bride or groom.

Next would be the name of the officiant at the wedding.

From there you would go on thanking both sets of parents, as well as the guests.

Last, but not least, you can end it with honoring deceased loved ones that could not be there that day. This can be done with a poem or quote of some kind.

When you are done finally making the wedding ceremony programs, you need to personalize them. This is a great way to tell the guests that are attending a little bit more about the couple that is getting married (aka more about yourself). For example, let's say that you are marrying your high school sweetheart! Then a great way to decorate your wedding program would be to place a picture of your senior prom on the front. This way it ties in the fact that you knew each other in high school and you are still very much in love. This is a special thing that not a lot of people get to find, so when it happens, it's something that you should share with everyone.

Remember that the overall goal of the wedding program is to give people a hand out that takes them through the beginning and the end of the reception. People need to know the approximate times, and this is something that they can keep up with when you hand them out a program when they first walk in. Although you do not have to use wedding programs if you do not want to, it's a nice way to make your wedding seem a bit more fancy. However, you only have to include things on the wedding ceremony that are must sees. For example, cutting the cake, special dances and things like that. People love to come to weddings, but they have to leave at some point, and they need to know what is coming up next so they know if they should stay or they should go.

After coming up with the wedding programs it's time to make them. The best way to do this is to create your own template or design using a computer program. With the right effort and creativity, you can make some very nice looking items. Remember to include things on it like colorful ribbon and other decorations to help them stand out. Just keep in mind that you do not want to overdo it in the design of your wedding programs. You are going to have to make a lot of these, and they can be very time consuming. Not only that, but they can cost a lot of if you add too many things to the programs.

The last thing that you have to do is give them out. The best way to do that is to give it to people as they come in the door to the wedding. You can have a friend or family member stand by the door to the church, and have them hand out things to guests as they come in. Most people would be happy to do this to help out with the wedding, so do not be afraid to ask someone. Wedding programs are a must, but at least you can do them yourself, if you put your mind to it.
