You can easily send fresh flowers and gifts internationally to your family or significant other to celebrate special occasions. International flower arrangements may include local specialties such as cakes and sweets, fresh fruit, a bottle of wine or a teddy bear. Same-day delivery may not be a possibility, depending on the time zone of the country. Next-day delivery is available most of the time and some florists, such as those in India, offer midnight delivery. There are several ways to send flowers internationally.

  Order a lovely flower arrangement and gift directly from your favorite florist in the foreign country. Many foreign flower shops have bilingual websites and cater to Americans who wish to send flowers within their city. Do an Internet search for “florists in city, country” and then scroll down the list until you find your favorite flower shop.

  Locate a local florist who is part of the Teleflora network if you wish to pay cash. To find this florist, visit the Locate-A-Flower-Shop website (see Resources) and enter your city and state. Choose flowers and gifts from the international selections that your local florist offers. He will transmit the order to a Teleflora florist in the destination country. Provide your email address and some of the foreign florists will send a photo of the flower arrangement at no additional charge.

  Choose an arrangement directly from the Teleflora florist in the foreign country. The Teleflora network spans 165 countries. First, choose your country of choice and then Teleflora will display the flower arrangements and gifts available for that country. You need a major credit card to place an order.

  Visit the FTD website to see if your country is among those where they have member florists. Scroll down the left side of the home page and click on International Deliveries. A sub-menu will list the continents. FTD offers gifts such as boxes of chocolates and spa baskets to accompany their fresh flowers. FTD requires a major credit card to order flowers.
